Where to stay?

Head northwest to Bowness-on-Windermere. One of the main tourist centres within the park, this small town has great attractions for the whole family. Set at the centre of the park, this small village is an ideal base for exploring the region. It also has plenty of attractions as well as restaurants and shops to enjoy. A bit further north is Grasmere. One of the cutest villages in the Lake District, Grasmere has charming shops, stunning scenery, and one of the best hostels in the area. And finally, north of Grasmere is Keswick. A proper town located in the north of the Lake District, Keswick has great restaurants and shops, bars and restaurants, as well as access to nature and hiking.
